Leaking Roof in North Windham, CT
Challenge
At this cape-cod style home located in North Windham, CT this homeowner was experiencing leaking in a flat roof area of the home. There were already two layers of existing shingles on the home that may have played a part in the leaking roof damage.
Solution
To fix the leaking roof of this home we completely tore of the existing two layers of shingles and roofing materials and brought them to the Asphalt Roof Recycling Center located in Stratford, CT to turn them into paved roads. This leak in the home could have been prevented if the previous roofer had not put on two layers of shingles and just stripped the roof and replaced it. We then replaced any damaged plywood decking and laid down Owens Corning Weatherlock G Ice & Water Shield to protect the home from any outside moisture. For shingles, we used Owens Corning TruDefinition Duration shingles in the color Driftwood. To finish this complete roof replacement we installed a new VentSure Ridge Vent which comes with a Weather Protector moisture barrier and provides top-notch consistent attic ventilation to the home. Now this homeowner can have peace of mind when it comes to their roof for 50 years!
