Complete Roof Replacement in Wallingford, CT

Challenge

This kit house located in Wallingford, CT still had the original roof on the home from since it was originally built. The customer was originally looking to get a new metal roof put on, however, with the warranty that we offer with our Owens Corning Asphalt Shingles they couldn't pass it up. Not only was the asphalt roofing system cheaper than the metal roof, but the warranty was also far better.

Solution

We first tore off the existing roofing materials and brought them to the recycling plant to be turned into paved roads. We then replaced 10 damaged sheets of plywood decking to ensure the structure of the home. To provide a moisture barrier we installed Owens Corning Weatherlock G Ice & Water from all eaves, valleys, chimneys, and skylights. For new shingles, we used Owens Corning TruDefinition Duration Asphalt Shingles. To top this home off we installed a new VentSure Ridge Vent to provide top-notch consistent attic ventilation with a moisture barrier protection. To protect the chimney, we removed and replaced the existing flashing with new lead chimney flashing.
