Leaking Barn Requires A Roof Replacement in Scotland, CT
Challenge
This distressed homeowner had an aging barn on their property that was experiencing significant leaking. Anxiously anticipating further property damage and fearing the worst, they called Klaus Larsen Roofing to come out and help alleviate the problem.
Solution
Upon arrival, it was noted the barn was facing significant structural damage. In an effort to fix this significant issue, we started the job by tearing off three layers of asphalt and wood shake roofing. We then installed new plywood decking over the existing structural framing of the roof. We continued to protect the barn from water damage by installing a synthetic underlayment as well as an ice & water barrier on the roof deck which repels any potential water penetration. In terms of shingles, we installed a new Klaus Larsen Roofing System with IKO Cambridge Architectural Shingles in the color Dual Grey. We finished the job by installing purpose-made Hip & Ridge Shingles on all ridges and hips of the roof, to provide consistent attic ventilation. The anxiety of the homeowner was replaced with satisfaction and peace of mind, as their barn is sturdy again.
