Roof Repair & Restoration in Old Saybrook, CT
Challenge
During our estimate at this home in Old Saybrook, CT we found that a small blind valley was causing leakage. Also, it appeared that whoever had installed the roof originally had over driven the fasteners causing the shingles to come off the nails and begin slipping in some areas.
Solution
We removed a portion of the siding and ran Ice & Water Shield up the side wall in the trouble area. We also installed new step flashing, and re-installed the siding. Part of this job included checking for rotting plywood and replacing where necessary. A small cricket was constructed to eliminate the blind valley. This structure is designed to consistently divert water around the chimney.
