Shingle-style Home on the Waterfront
Challenge
Shingle-style homes commemorate summer in New England with asymmetrical, rustic architecture and colonial motifs. This house, situated right on the Thames River, is an elegant example of such design. With so many asymmetrical surfaces, it proved as a great challenge and creative opportunity. This was a project where it was integral to maintain the antiquity of the home while juxtaposing it with a whole new roof.
Solution
We applied a great deal of ice & water shield with six stainless steel nails per shingle. It was a priority not to detract from the historical value of this home while protecting it from the elements. Upon completion, the gothic revival architecture was preserved under a modern roof ensured by our fifty year guarantee.
