Roof Replacement Photo Album: Roof Replacement on 2 Family House in Manchester, CT

2 layers of shingles were removed from this house in Manchester, CT. The first layer was asphalt shingles and the second layer was wooden Cedar Shakes. After both layers were removed, new plywood was installed over the original deck and new Owens Corning architectural shingles.

Tear-Off

After tear off the original decking of furring strips were exposed. furring strips are good for cedar roofing but not asphalt.

Plywood

A new deck of 1/2" CDX plywood was installed over the furring strips.

Underlayment

9 feet of Ice & Water Barrier, Synthetic underlayment, and architectural shingles.

Roof Complete

Shingles were Owens Corning Duration. (Color: Brownwood).
