Before Chimney Flashing
This "before" photo of the chimney flashing is in dire need of attention. The white stains covering the flashing give the roof an unhealthy appearance. Additionally, you can see black marks staining the shingles, indicating its 25-year age. This roof is ready for its Klaus Larsen roof replacement!
Roof Covering
One of the initial steps in the Klaus Larsen Roof Replacement process is to meticulously prepare your home and property for the removal of old shingles and materials from the roof using these long tarps that can cover the home's siding and yard. Our crew takes every precaution to safeguard your surroundings, ensuring no damage occurs and leaving no materials behind after completing the replacement. We are so confident in our thoroughness that Klaus Larsen offers a No Nail Guarantee-if you find any nails left behind, we'll give you $1 for each one!
Roofing Stripped
At this point in the roof replacement process, once your roof's decking is stripped down, it provides a fresh new start and, more importantly, an opportunity to inspect the plywood decking closely. Our crew can carefully assess the condition of each board, identifying any damaged or rotting sections that require replacement with fresh new wood decking. This ensures a solid foundation for your new roof, promoting longevity and durability.
Work In Progress
This photo showcases the various protective seals employed by Klaus Larsen Roofing to safeguard your decking and maintain a leak-free roof. The Ice & Water Shield, specifically the Sealoron XT, serves as the primary defense against water and wind, ensuring the plywood remains protected and free from leaks. This barrier is meticulously applied to all edges and valleys of the roof, reinforcing the most vulnerable areas. Additionally, we utilize the Velora One Roof Underlayment, visible as the brown layer covering the majority of the plywood. This underlayment effectively prevents water penetration into your home, offering robust protection against the harsh storms typical of New England. That's the Klaus Larsen Way!
New Chimney Flashing
This new chimney flashing demonstrates a perfectly tight seal! A poorly installed flashing can allow water to seep into cracks between the shingles and the chimney, leading to leaks inside your home. This flashing has been sealed tightly to prevent any water intrusion, and it also presents a much cleaner appearance compared to the previous chimney flashing these homeowners had.
Final Look
Lastly, the shingles selected are the IKO Dynasty Architectural Shingles in the color Driftshake. These shingles are durable and algae-resistant, ensuring your roof maintains a fresh appearance without unsightly dark streaks or marks. Moreover, they come with a windproof warranty of up to 130 mph! With their beautiful new roof, Charles and Cathy can relax knowing it's leak-free and installed the Klaus Larsen Way.
