Carole’s detached barn had an aging roof on the back that began leaking, with worn-out shingles and underlayment that no longer provided reliable protection. After our team at Klaus Larsen Roofing replaced the old materials with durable, high-quality options, including IKO shingles in the color Driftshake, the barn was given a fresh, modern look. The new roof not only improved the barn’s appearance but also ensured lasting protection for years to come. The transformation is clear, Carole’s barn now stands stronger and won't be leaking anytime soon! The Klaus Roofing Way!
Here was a hipped roof Colonial in Cromwell, CT that had 25 year old shingles. This type of roof slopes down at all sides, toward the walls of the home. It is a great design style, however gutters are needed on each and every side. The wood in the attic was exhibiting signs of moisture permeation, from two laters of deteriorated shingles which had been installed on top of one another. There was some visible black algae streaking on these shingles as well. We installed a single layer of Owens Corning shingles, nailed into both a tear resistant underlayment, as well as Ice & Water shield. As a part of this job, we kept the attic turbine exhaust on and flashed around it. A debris receptacle is provided for all jobs, and all asphalt shingles that we remove are recycled. We also ensure that every single nail is removed from the property.
After tearing off one existing layer of shingles, the plywood decking was completed stripped and replaced with new material. Three rows of Owens Corning Weatherlock G Ice & Water shield was installed to protect any moisture from entering the home. Owens Corning Duration TruDefinition shingles, in the color of Sierra Gray, were installed. Flashing on the chimney was replaced. An existing vent boot was replaced, in the color of Black. This home is now fully protected inside and out because of Klaus Larsen!
Seeking a contractor to carry out a roof replacement, owners of this 1987 contemporary-style home trusted Klaus Larsen Roofing with the job. We started by tearing off 2 layers of existing roofing materials, as well as replacing 5 layers of damaged plywood decking. Next, we installed three rows of Ice & Water Barrier near roof valleys, eaves, chimneys, etc. For shingles, we installed Duration TruDefinition Shingles in the color Slatestone Gray. These shingles included an Algae-Resistance Limited Warranty as well as a 130 MPH Wind Resistance Warranty. Lastly, we installed a mounted Velux FS Skylight. This attractive home is now complete with its new Klaus Larsen roof installment!
