A home in New Canaan, CT, had reached a critical point with a roof that was 20 years old and showing signs of wear. The homeowner Paul noticed a troubling leak in one corner of the roof, which made it clear it was time for a change. Paul decided to contact us at Klaus Larsen Roofing, and good thing he did- look at that before and after difference! At Klaus Larsen Roofing, we begin the roof replacement process by thoroughly inspecting the existing roof to assess the extent of the damage. Our sales inspector will walk you through the situation and make sure Paul understands what will be done to solve the issue. Once we have a clear understanding, our team starts by removing the old shingles to expose the underlying plywood decking. To ensure protection, we apply the SealoronXT Ice & Water Seal along all the roof’s edges, eaves, and valleys. This extra layer safeguards the most vulnerable areas against harsh weather conditions. Next, we installed VerloraOne Roof Underlayment across the rest of the roof, providing defense against any potential water infiltration that could occur during severe weather events. A beautiful transformation for this home's roof in Wilton, CT with a full Klaus Larsen Roofing System! As an important part of the Klaus Roofing Way, our team inspects the attic space to identify any structural problems and molding. For this home, a lot of the plywood was wet in the attic. We first replaced any damaged plywood and renailed the existing decking with Ring Shank Nails, a higher quality nail that is a cross between a nail and a screw and won't come out in high winds. We then laid down our Klaus Larsen Roofing SealoronXT Ice & Water self-sealing membrane to create a moisture barrier between the decking and the shingles. We also added 100 extra feet of Ice & Water for the lower slope roof on left rear of the house. For even more protection, we installed our own Velora One Underlayment, a high performance synthetic underlayment designed to protect the home in even the most severe weather. We also took the extra step to protect the home by taping the the plywood steams with our all-weather SealoronXT Deck Tape, a self-adhering tape used to seal the plywood roof deck and protect the structure by keeping water out. It's the Klaus Roofing Way! To top it off, for new asphalt shingles, we installed IKO Dynasty Architectural Shingles featuring a 1-1/4" nailing area made with a tough reinforcing woven band for incredible nail-holding power to protect the home against Mother Nature's fury.
