At this 1980's Dutch Colonial home located in Scotland, CT we completely stripped the existing roof and installed a new Klaus Roofing System. Once we stripped the roof we replaced 5 sheets of damaged plywood decking that had been rotted out my water damage and old age. We went above code with Ice & Water Shield form all eaves, valleys, and around any chimneys and skylights. To ensure that no moisture passes through to the interior of the home we installed ProArmour Synthetic Underlayment designed to adhere to the roofing surface and repel outside water. For the shingles, we installedarchitectural-style asphalt shingles Driftwood. These shingles are designed to withstand 130 mph winds and are algae resistant to ensure they stay looking brand new for many years to come.
The time had come for the roof to be replaced on this Baltic, CT house, as thousands of bee's were entering the attic. We first had to re-box their entry area in with composite in order to keep these uninvited guests out for good. We also used special flashing material to match the color of the home, so that everything would look uniform. Extensive deck protection and ventilation was incorporated, including solar powered Fresh Air Deck mounts, and a VentSure ridge vent under True Def Duration Estate Gray shingles.
This single-family home in Baltic, CT was in need of a roof and new gutter guards. After tearing off and disposing of one layer of asphalt roofing, we replaced 3 sheets of damaged plywood decking. We then installed 2 rows of an ice & water barrier near all roof eaves, valleys, chimneys, etc. In terms of shingles, we installed a Klaus Larsen Roofing System with IKO Cambridge Architectural Shingles in the color Dual Grey. In terms of gutter guards, we installed brand new 5-inch Microguard Leaf Protection Gutter Guards by Englert. We finished the job by installing a new ridge vent to keep consistent attic ventilation, and removing and replacing the existing chimney flashing with brand new lead flashing. This house is now complete, thanks to Klaus Larsen Roofing!
A new homeowner in Baltic, CT decided to give Klaus Larsen Roofing a call because the homes roof was from 1992. Shingles were beginning to buckle and some were sliding out of place.
David, a homeowner in Baltic, CT, decided it was time to replace his 30-year-old roof—and the "before" photo makes it clear why. Covered in leaves, algae, and weathering stains, the roof showed all the common signs of aging. These issues not only take away from curb appeal but can also lead to leaks and structural damage if ignored. For his roof replacement, David chose IKO Dynasty shingles, known for their built-in algae resistance. These shingles feature colorfast algae-resistant granules, which help prevent the growth of blue-green algae—the culprit behind dark stains and discoloration. Now, David’s roof looks brand new and will maintain its appearance for years to come. That’s the Klaus Roofing Way!
