This two-story, Cape Cod home located in Farmington, CT had significant ice dam issues that developed over the upstairs bedrooms causing a small leak inside the home. To fix this problem and prevent further damage to the home we completely stripped off the existing shingles over the rear house and garage, where the problem occurred. We replaced any damaged plywood decking to make sure the structure of the roof was solid. Then we installed Owens Corning Weatherlock G Ice & Water to prevent any moisture from penetrating through to the plywood decking. For the new shingles, we installed Owens Corning Oakridge Shingles in the color Onyx Black. This homeowner will no longer have to worry about the devastating damage of ice dams this coming winter.
