This log cabin style home in Canterbury, CT is very unique. Built in 1975, this single family home has a very interesting layout. It is a colonial and the roof is a gambrel, which is also referred to as a "Dutch Colonial" and looks like a barnyard roof. The owners were not experiencing any issues with the roof but knew that it was time to replace it. After tearing off two layers of existing roofing materials, the damaged plywood was replaced with all new decking. Three rows of Ice & Water sheild was installed. The exisiting chimney flashing was removed and replaced. Brown aluminum drip edge/rake was installed along the entire, outside perimeter of the roof. Architectural-style asphalt shingles in the color of Terra Cotta, were installed which complimented this home very well!
This Dutch-Colonial barn was completely stripped of its existing roof and replaced with a brand new Klaus Larsen roofing system. We started the process by removing and replacing 2 layers of existing roofing materials and 52 sheets of damaged plywood decking. We went on to install 3 layers of Ice & Water barrier near roof eaves, valleys, chimneys etc. In terms of shingles, we installed shingles in the color Estate Gray. This Cape-style home in Canterbury, CT was built in 1840 and in need of a new roof. Next, we installed a Ridge Vent to provide attic ventilation. Lastly, we removed and replaced all flashing around the chimney with new lead flashing, to further secure and seal the home form potential leaks. This home is now complete thanks to Klaus Larsen Roofing!
