This large colonial style home in Griswold, CT was in need of a new roof and new gutter system. After tearing off one layer of existing roofing material, we replaced 5 damaged sheets of plywood decking. We then covered the entire roof deck with two rows of ice & water barrier. For new shingles, we installed a Klaus Larsen Roofing System with IKO Cambridge Architectural Shingles in the color Dual Black. For the new gutters, we installed 5" heavy duty Aluminum Seamless gutters by Englert. We finished the job by removing and replacing the existing flashing on the chimney with brand new lead flashing. This house is now complete thanks to Klaus Larsen Roofing!
This large one family home located in Griswold, CT was in need of a roof replacement and the homeowners turned to us for help. We began by tearing off one layer of existing roofing materials and disposing of them properly. We then inspected the roof deck and replaced 3 sheets of damaged plywood decking. To ensure protection from the elements, we layed down two rows of Ice & Water Barrier along the roof. In places where there was no Ice & Water Barrier, we installed a Synthetic Underlayment to repel water. For shingles, we installed a Klaus Larsen Roofing System with Cambridge Architectural Shingles in the Charcoal Grey colorway. To finish the job we replaced the vent pipe boot and installed a ridge vent to provide the attic with ventilation. This home is now complete thanks to Klaus Larsen Roofing!

Matt in Jewett City, CT, reached out to us at Klaus Larsen Roofing after noticing water spots forming on the ceiling of his master bedroom. Concerned about potential leaks and long-term damage, he wanted a professional inspection to get a clear answer on what was going on. Our sales inspector came by to assess the situation and walk Matt through the best solutions for his home. After an evaluation, we discovered that his aging roof and insufficient attic insulation were contributing to the problem. Matt decided to move forward with a full roof replacement and attic insulation upgrade. Now, with a brand-new Klaus Larsen roof and improved insulation, Matt can rest easy knowing his home is protected from future leaks and heat loss.
Here was a ranch home in Stonington, CT which had a lot of moss and lichen build up on its shingles. Both moss and lichen spores love to take hold and grow on the north side of trees, as well as the shady areas of roofs. Older, 3-tab shingles, like the ones used on this home, were not designed with any type of resistance to this type of fungal growth. Power washing and chemical solvents are not recommended as they will often actually take granules of asphalt off, and can even void some insurance plans! The amount of shade on this roof is still going to be conducive to moss growth, however the Owens Corning Duration shingles we install are manufactured to ward off algae.
