Originally known for its brownstone quarries and shipbuilding, Portland is one of Connecticut's most historically rich cities, and is one of many towns we've brought our craft to. This project entailed the tear off and recycling of one layer of shingles, followed by the installation of a roofing system (insured for 50 years by Owens Corning). The underlayment we use is completely resistant to tear, and provides an extremely water tight seal. We are very proud of this job!
Twenty years had gone by since this Gambrel style roof in Portland, CT was replaced. This type of construction dates back to the late 1600s and is perfect for providing more living space and for accommodating future additions. For this job we installed Ice & Water ahead of the drip edge, before extending it to wrap under the fascia. The existing gutter straps were reinstalled under Estate Gray shingles, as part of a complete OC roofing system.
This homeowner was having issues with Ice Dams and had water stains on their ceiling from water damage. We completely stripped the existing roof and replaced 27 sheets of plywood decking that were damaged from water. We installed Owens Corning Weatherlock G Ice & Water from all eaves, valleys, and chimneys/skylights. For shingles, we used Owens Corning Duration TruDefinition Shingles in the color Estate Gray. This home had a skylight and chimney flashing which also needed replacing.
This home located in Portland, CT was having leaking issues from the dormers on the roof and the roof was over 20 years old. It was time to put on a brand new Klaus Larsen Roof using the Klaus Roofing System. We started by replacing 3 sheets of plywood decking that had been rotted out by water damage. For optimal water protection, we installed Ice & Water Shield and ProArmour Synthetic Underlayment. Providing durable tear-resistant water protection that adheres to the roofing surface. For shingles, we used Chateau Green. To top it off we installed a Ridge Vent to provide consistent top-notch attic ventilation which prevents moisture from building up.
This single family home in Portland, CT was in need of a new roof. We at Klaus Larsen Roofing started the job by tearing off one layer of existing roofing materials and replacing 4 sheets of damaged plywood decking. We then installed 2 rows of Ice & Water Barrier near all eaves, valleys, chimneys etc. In terms of shingles, we installed Cambridge Architectural Shingles in the color Dual Grey. We installed a ridge vent to keep consistent attic ventilation during the winter season to prevent ice dams. We finished by replacing all flashing along the chimney to further prevent leaking. This house is now complete thanks to Klaus Larsen Roofing.
