David, a homeowner in East Hampton, reached out to us with a unique challenge. His roof had developed a leak right at the tricky transition point where the shingled portion meets the flat section—a common problem area that needs specialized expertise to repair effectively. But for our team at Klaus Larsen Roofing, that’s no problem! As experts in both shingled and flat roofing systems, we were ready to provide David with a beautiful, durable roof solution that would stop the leak and stand the test of time. Our process started with a thorough inspection to identify any underlying issues that might have contributed to the leak. We removed the old roofing materials and assessed the decking beneath, replacing any weakened or damaged boards to ensure a strong foundation. Then, we applied our industry-leading protective layers: SealoronXT Ice & Water, VeloraOne Roof Underlayment, and DeckTape. These layers are designed to protect vulnerable areas and provide a watertight seal, particularly in transition zones like David’s, where leaks are most likely to occur. For the new shingles, the IKO Dynasty shingles in the color Brownstone, which come with a 130MPH wind warranty and are algae-resistant, give David peace of mind against weather damage and premature aging. In addition, we installed a specialized flat roofing Polyglass roof membrane on the flatter section, designed to withstand water pooling and keep water out.
The results speak for themselves! The “before” picture showed an aging, vulnerable roof, but the “after” reveals a polished roof that not only protects the home but gives it a refreshed, elevated look. David now has a stunning roof that seamlessly blends the shingled and flat sections and, best of all, is backed by the Klaus Promise—a 50-year warranty that ensures our support if he ever needs assistance down the road. That’s the Klaus Roofing Way!
