Roof Shingle Replacement in Vernon, CT

The owners of this property had an old roof and leaks from Ice Dams. The Ice dams were causing water to come into the large bay window in the front of the house. The owners wanted the Ice Dams completely gone so they asked for our Vented Deck solution. A vented deck is a system of a built up second layer of plywood that allows air to pass between the two pieces. This keeps the roof deck cold and prevents from melting and refreezing on the roof.

Roof Replacement in Vernon, CT

Built in 1941, this single-family home was in need of a new roof. We started by tearing off 2 layers of existing roofing materials, as well as replacing 3 layers of damaged plywood decking. We then installed 2 rows of Ice & Water Barrier near all eaves, valleys, chimneys etc. We installed a Klaus Larsen Roofing System with Cambridge Architectural Shingles in the color Charcoal Gray. Lastly, we removed and replaced all flashing around the chimney with brand new lead flashing. This house is now complete thanks to Klaus Larsen Roofing!

Vernon, CT Roof Replacement

Michael, a homeowner in Vernon, CT, had a faded grey roof that was showing clear signs of weathering and moss growth throughout the shingles. After a detailed consultation with one of our Klaus Larsen Roofing Sales Inspectors, he realized it was time to give his roof a fresh start.

On the day of the renovation, our crew got right to work. While some team members began stripping away the old, weathered shingles, others carefully protected the home by covering it with tarps to ensure no falling debris would damage the property. Once the roof was stripped, we inspected the plywood decking to assess its condition. We discovered areas of rotting plywood, which we promptly replaced, giving Michael’s roof a new, solid foundation.

After replacing the damaged decking, we applied protective layers, starting with the SealoronXT Ice & Water Shield to cover the roof’s most vulnerable areas, ensuring protection against rain, snow, and ice. Next, we installed the VeloraOne Underlayment to further protect the rest of the decking from any water that could seep from under the shingles and cause a leak in your home.

The final touch was the installation of IKO Dynasty shingles in the striking Granite Black color. Known for their durability, these shingles not only provide long-lasting protection but also enhance the curb appeal of any home. The color Granite Black added a sleek, modern look to Michael's house giving the home a refreshed appearance. With built-in algae resistance, these shingles prevent the growth of blue-green algae, keeping those unsightly black streaks and discoloration at bay for years to come.
