This asphalt shingled roof was over 60 years old. The house was built in 1939 and the roof needed to be replaced. They chose to install a full Klaus Roofing System. We first replaced any damaged plywood decking and laid down our Klaus Larsen Roofing SealoronXT Ice & Water self-sealing membrane to create a moisture barrier between the decking and the shingles. For even more protection, we installed our own Velora One Underlayment, a high performance synthetic underlayment designed to protect the home in even the most severe weather. For new asphalt shingles, we installed IKO Dynasty Architectural Shingles, in the color Summit Gray chosen by the homeowner, featuring a 1-1/4" nailing area made with a tough reinforcing woven band for incredible nail-holding power to protect the home against Mother Nature's fury. It's the Klaus Roofing Way!

This West Hartford, CT Colonial had three layers of deteriorated shingles that needed to be removed and replaced with a new roofing system. We always recommend starting with a fresh layer, as opposed to covering up asphalt and plywood that have been compromised by moisture. Though layering shingles was once a common practice, standards have changed drastically, and multiple layers can often hinder a home's chances of getting insurance or being sold on the market. Many insurance companies now insure by the layer. Poor ventilation is also attributed to multi-layering, as it causes your attic to suffocate, builds ice dams and will rapidly worsen any preexisting conditions. Having one complete layer with properly placed vents and underlayment will provide total protection, without having to worry about the eroded shingles lurking beneath.
This homeowner was in need of a new roof on their garage. After tearing off one layer of existing roofing materials, we replaced all sheets of damaged plywood decking. We then installed 2 rows of TriBuilt ice & water near all roof eaves, valleys, chimneys etc. In accordance with the building code requirements, we sealed all roof joints with flashing tape. We installed a Klaus Larsen Roofing System with IKO Cambridge Shingles with Charcoal Grey. We finished the job by installing purpose-made Hip and Ridge Shingles on all ridges and hips of the roof. This garage is now safe and secure thanks to Klaus Larsen Roofing.
This home located in Hartford, CT was having serious roof problems. There were multiple shingles falling off and there was a leak from the roof over the back porch section of the home. To fix this issue we completely stripped the existing roof and replaced it with new asphalt shingles. After we stripped the old roof, we replaced 10 sheets of water-damaged plywood decking. To protect the home from outside moisture we laid down Owens Corning Weatherlock G Ice & Water and ProArmor Synthetic Underlayment which is engineered to repel water and to adhere to the roofing surface. For shingles, we used Owens Corning Oakridge Shingles in the color Onyx Black. To make sure the structure of the chimney stays intact we removed the old flashing and replaced it with new lead chimney flashing.
